Get localization packages for KDE

From Salix OS
Jump to: navigation, search

The Salix KDE iso images do not include any localization packages due to size constrains. As a result, KDE and all KDE applications, like KOffice or Konqueror do not support localization right after installation. But it is very simple to add support for your language after installation using the package manager. All you need to do is install the following localization packages:

kde-l10n-YOURLOCALE
koffice-l10n-YOURLOCALE

YOURLOCALE being a two letter country code. For example, spanish users would need to install:

kde-l10n-es
koffice-l10n-es

to have support in KDE, including all KDE applications and KOffice. If you don't know the two letter code for your country, just do a search in gslapt for your language in english and you'll see all localization packages that are available in the repositories for that language.
